Hamb: Rotari

Overview

In Hamb: Rotari, the player assembles a looping set of actions arranged around a cake, then sends a minion into battle against an enemy. Both fighters execute the same actions simultaneously - but the enemy runs them in reverse. Victory comes from discovering attack combinations, exploiting type advantages, and adapting to different biomes and types on the way to the highest score.

Gameplay

  • A cake (a circle with 5 question marks) sits in the bottom-right corner - this is your loop.
  • A bar of 6 action icons runs along the top of the screen.
  • Add an action to your loop by tapping it or pressing its number key; remove the last-added action with Backspace.
  • Once all 5 actions are chosen, your minion spawns alongside an enemy, and both begin attacking at the same time.
  • Your minion runs the loop's actions in order; the enemy performs the same actions backwards.
  • Each attack applies an effect shown above the target's head (e.g. a fireball burns them).
  • Type interactions matter: using VineWhip leaves an opponent especially vulnerable to a follow-up fireball, for example.
  • The goal is to chain combos that strengthen your attacks and weaken the enemy's, defeating as many opponents as possible in as few loops as you can.
